  Eastern High School Announcements

*2026 Summer Driver’s Ed information is available in the office for any EHS student who will be 15 years of age before May 31, 2026. Please pick up the information paper from the HS office.

*The Eastern boys swim team ended their dual meet season with a win over Blackford 118-36. Caden and Grant Kerns were quadruple winners. Jacob Kerns was a triple winner, double winners were Reid Shedron, Ethan Heck, and Evan Lapp and Reagan Long and Hudson Bedwell were single winners.

*Today we will be having a call out meeting for high school boys track and field after school at 3:25 in the cafeteria. Come grab some info regarding the upcoming season as we start the following week. Even if you are in a winter sport, swing by and grab the info so you have it!! Go Comets!!

*Attention Juniors and Seniors – A representative from IU Kokomo will be at Eastern on Tuesday, February 17 at 10:30. If you would like to learn more about IUK, please sign up with Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office by Monday, February 16.

*The Eastern Key Club will be hosting a sucker sale from now until the end of the week. Suckers are being sold for one dollar each and proceeds are going towards the Walk A Mile Fundraiser and other community outreach efforts. Stop by the Key Club table in the cafeteria during lunch to get yours today!

*The Eastern bowling coach will have information about Middle School boys and girls bowling on Thursday February 12 in the cafeteria during your lunch period.  No previous bowling experience is necessary.

*Middle School FCS will meet this Thursday in Ms. Carpenter’s room after school.

*Winter Homecoming week is February 9-13!  The dress up days are as follows:

Thursday: Color War!

Freshman: Orange

Sophomores: Purple

Juniors: Blue

Seniors: Black

Staff: White

*SADD club, please see Profe Larson in her classroom for Walk a Mile packets and sign up for a time slot for Dessert Night!

*Winter Homecoming/Semi-Formal Dance on Saturday, February 14, from 7-10pm in the High School Cafeteria! Tickets will be $10 and are on sale today.  Tickets can be purchased throughout the day from Mrs. Nibert’s room (room 101). Ticket sales will end on Thursday, February 12. No tickets will be sold at the door. Anyone wanting to bring a date from another school/not a current Eastern Student will need to pick up a guest permission form in the high school office. This dance is for high school students only! If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Nibert.

* Just a reminder, school WILL be in session Monday, February 16^th.

*Attention all high school students, there will be a call out meeting for anyone interested in being on stage crew for the spring musical. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 18th right after school in the choir room. We will need lots of help moving things, and making sure the show runs smoothly. If you have any questions, please email Lincoln Mentis.

*Come join us for prayer and donuts on Wednesday morning February 18th.  We will meet at 7:45 before school in the swim lobby and anyone is welcome to attend!  Come pray for your families, school, country and those in need!

*Juniors, if you participated in the J. Edwards fundraiser, stop by Mrs. Bickel’s room today to pick up your products.

*Be part of something great- join Eastern’s Walk A Mile for the Rescue Mission team!  Spanish Club, SADD and Key Club are all participating but we would like you to join us.  The event is Saturday, morning, Feb. 28, but we are starting fundraising now.  This is an event for all staff and students.  For more information see or email Mrs. Larson.

*Art Club will be held in the library on Tuesday, February 17th after school.  We will be creating with Fimo Clay.  Bring your imagination and join us from 3-4.

*There will be a call out meeting during lunch next Wednesday for any Middle School boy or girl interested in golf this season.

*Middle school student council will be meeting in Ms. Warnock’s room today from 3:15 to 4:00 to discuss upcoming events including activity night.

*Girls High school Track and Field callout meeting is taking place TODAY IN THE CAFETERIA AT 3:30. Please come to get information, season schedule, and make sure you’re on the Team GroupMe.
REMINDER: YOU MUST HAVE A PHYSICAL ON FILE IN THE ATHLETIC OFFICE TO PRACTICE! If you have questions, or can’t make the meeting, please contact Mrs. Kantz.

*A phenomenal day for the Comet Command! 22 participants with 20 Golds and 2 silvers who missed gold by only a half a point! Music is alive at Eastern Bands and this director couldn’t be happier! Students receiving gold are Caroline Archer, Bennett Fugett, Madelynn Carver, Coralee Komar , Emma Ailor, Audrey Ailor, Maggie Rife, Zailah Semon, Sid Mathis, Mackenzie Lewis, Greyson Ingle, Greyson Gillam, Olive single, Samara Sommers, Camden Ward, Carson Ward, Bella Miller, Cooper Perryman, Alex Doll, Makenzie Burton, Cece Cramer, and Emily Cass. Silver Medalists are Audrey Ailor and Alexis Linstrom. A special good luck to Will Kuntz, Makayla Armstrong, Nichole King, Claire Rush and Hannah Robinette for qualifying for the state contest on February 28th. Also, a big thank you to Mrs. Amber Adams for helping accompany many of our students. She is a very generous person. Love this band! Good job everyone!

• High school art club meeting is rescheduled for next Wednesday, March 18th.

 

• Announcement 3/9-3/20 Eastern High School will present the musical “Mary Poppins” Friday, March 20 at 7:30 and Saturday, March 21 at 4:30.  Tickets may be purchased at booktix.com or at the door. Come join us on the “rooftops of London” where chimney sweeps dance and everything is “practically perfect” when Mary Poppins is around.

 

 

• Eastern Driver Education enrollment forms are available in the HS office. Forms must be returned by Friday, March 27, 2020 to the HS office.  Email or see  Ms. Carpenter if you have questions.

 

 

• Tennis season officially begins Monday, March 16^th at 3:30 at the tennis courts.

 

• Friday, March 13 “March is Disability Awareness Month! In honor of Disability Awareness Month the Functional Skills Class and the Sunshine Club will be sponsoring a Trivia Contest on Mondays and Fridays. The first person to email the correct answer to Lexi Hunt or Melissa Meador will win a prize! Today’s Trivia Question is: “Which student in the Functional Skills Class bakes homemade baked goods most nights of the week?”

 

• Detention today, Friday, will be in Mr. Allison’s room.

 

• Attention all Cast and Crew of “Mary Poppins”: There will be rehearsal this evening beginning at 5:00 sharp. Make sure you are present.
