Eastern High School Announcements

Students who need to change your schedule: You will have until Monday, January 9 at 3:00 p.m. to fill out the google form that Mrs. Slee emailed you.  Until you meet with Mrs. Slee, you need to report to the class that shows in Skyward. ONLY if you are missing a class should you come to the Guidance Office.

 

Attention Juniors: The J. Edwards fundraiser order forms were given out during US History. If you did not get an order form or information sheet, please see Mrs. Bickel. All order forms and money are due by Wednesday, January 18th.

 

Auditions for the Spring Musical will be this week! A large cast is needed for the

show. Students interested in reading for a part need to come to auditions

Wednesday and Thursday. Students only auditioning for the chorus can audition

Thursday and Monday.

We are still in need of an Assistant Student Director, Stage Manager and Crew

Heads.

Please check the bulletin board in the choir hallway for more information.

 

The English bowl team will begin its weekly meetings at 7:35 AM on Wednesday, Jan. 18.

 

There will be a boy’s golf callout meeting on January 9 at 3:30 in the cafeteria for any high school boy interested in golfing this spring.

 

“Girls who are interested in participating in track and field –AND WHO ARE NOT IN A WINTER SPORT– can start coming to winter strength and conditioning on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 -4:30.
We meet in the cafeteria.  See /or email Mrs. Kantz if you have any questions!”

 

If you did not receive your report card Wednesday, please see Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office.

 

If you talked to Mr. Keith about the Social Studies Academic team last semester, or are interested in joining, please stop by his room (rm112) today or tomorrow. If you can’t make it to his room, send him an email.

The High School Student Council will be hosting a Winter Homecoming/Semi-Formal Dance on Saturday, January 21, from 7-10pm in the High School Cafeteria! Tickets will be $10 and will go on sale next Wednesday (January 11th) before school in the cafeteria.  Tickets can be purchased throughout the day from Mrs. Nibert’s room (room 101). Ticket sales will end the following Wednesday, January 18. Anyone wanting to bring a date from another school/not a current Eastern Student will need to pick up a permission form in the high school office. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Nibert. This event is for HIGH SCHOOL students ONLY!

Attention all baseball players, the open gym practice session scheduled for today after school has been cancelled.

Art Club is cancelled after school today.

“Attention all Dodgeball players for middle and high school: the brackets and rules for Thursdays tournament has been posted on the softball twitter and Facebook pages. They will be posted at the school tomorrow. Please plan to arrive Thursday at 5:30 and email Coach Shively with any questions.”

High School and Middle School wrestling practice is cancelled today. We will have practice tomorrow at normal time.

Oasis Club is cancelled today.

Bring your sweet tooth to the basketball game tonight!  There will be a variety of desserts – cake/pie/brownies/cookies for sale for $2 each to support the Rescue Mission and our clubs.
Spanish Club, Art Club and SADD, don’t forget to bring in your desserts this week!  We need everyone’s help to make this event a success!

Any JUNIOR boy interested in applying to attend Hoosier Boys State, please sign up in the Guidance Office by Friday, December 9th.

The boys and girls swim teams both picked up wins against Wabash last night! The girls took first place in every event! The standout swim came from Ava Kantz in the 500 Free where she exceeded her season goal time by swimming a 5:55.62!

The boys also had a great night with first place finishes coming from Charlie Kendall in both of his individual events, and the 200 Medley Relay took first place as well! Way to go, Comet Swimming!

“The deadline to submit your dodgeball teams has been extended to Friday this week. Get your teams together and turn in your sign ups and money to the high school athletic office no later than Friday!”

Bring your sweet tooth to the basketball game this Friday night!  There will be a variety of desserts – cake/pie/brownies/cookies for sale for $2 each to support the Rescue Mission and our clubs.

Attention Girls’ track athletes: There will be a short meeting today about winter training and upcoming concession stand dates @ 3:15 in the cafeteria.

There will be a Girls Soccer call out meeting for both Middle school and high school girls today at 3:20 in room 302 Profe Lorenz’s room.  Practices will start back up this weekend so don’t miss out on your opportunity to be a part of the up and coming ( and a little crazy ) Eastern Girls Soccer Team!

There is a meeting for any boy in grades 9-12 about winter workouts on Friday, December 9^th @ 745 in Mr Stout’s room 309.

The Spring Musical is “The Music Man”. All information concerning that musical is posted in the choir hallway. Auditions are January 4th,5th, and 9th. Students are needed to cast, crews, student directors and stage manager. Take a look at the information and be a part of this year’s production. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Evenson.
