Eastern High School Announcements
Monday August 28, 2023.
On Saturday, the boys cross country team placed 9th in the Maverick Stampede, hosted by McCutcheon High School in Lafayette. Eastern won the tiebreaker with Benton Central by virtue of our #6 runner, Reagan Long, who placed 109th, ahead of Benton Central’s #6 runner in 118th. Obi Greene led the team with his 2nd place finish in 18:00. Gavin Sonafrank put in a season best performance. Great job, Comets!
On Saturday, the girls cross country team placed 6th in the Maverick Stampede, at McCutcheon High School. Ava Kantz led the Comets with her 6th place finish in 22:24, while Malia Shellnut set a new personal record of 29:24. Congratulations, Comets!
The Lady Comets shutout Delphi this past Saturday with a score of 11-0. Brooklyn Brooks and Alia Dutton both had hat tricks and each had an assist. Jade Seacrease and Grace VanBibber scored two goals each and Julia Salkie scored a goal. Ruby Sheets had 3 saves in goal. Come out to support them in their next contest is at home Tuesday August 29th vs Tri Central! Great job ladies!
Middle school student council will have their next meeting on Wednesday, August 30th.
Current High school National Honor Society members plan on meeting in Mrs. Eikenberry’s room Tuesday, Aug. 29th @ 7:45 in the morning.
“There will be a high school softball callout meeting Wednesday August 30th at 3:30 in the library conference room”
There will be a high school boys and girls wrestling call out, next Friday, Sept. 1st right after school in the cafeteria.
Homecoming Parade Announcement: Read 8/28-9/6
Any club or team interested in participating in the parade needs to sign-up on the sheet in the high school office by Wednesday, September 6th. No participants will be allowed after September 6.
Homecoming Dress-Up Days: Read 8/28-9/8 (dropping off each day of homecoming week)
Homecoming Week is September 5th through the 8th! The dress-up days are as follows:
Tuesday: Rhyme without a Reason. Get a buddy and dress up as a silly rhyme, like Post Malone and Traffic Cone!
On Wednesdays, we wear pink!
Thursday, dress as your classes Taylor Swift Era.
Freshmen: Debut

Juniors: Speak Now
Seniors: Reputation
Friday is Green and Gold Day!
Can Food Drive Announcement: Read from 8/28-9/9
The student council is having a canned food drive during the week of homecoming. This will be a competition between 9-12 grade. The winners will be announced Monday September 11th. All of the cans donated will go toward the Buddy Bag program throughout the school year. Please check your email for information sent out by Mrs. Nibert.
