  • Activity Night! Come to activity night next Friday, January 24 after the basketball game.  There will be a dodgeball tournament, corn hole, volleyball, music and pizza!  Only $5 admission!  Plan to attend!

 

  • Attention senior winter athletes:  If you have not already turned in your senior night bio sheet, please give it to Mrs. Woodall by the end of the day today, Friday (January 17). Boys’ basketball players and cheerleaders (or anyone else who did not receive a bio sheet but should have), you can pick up a form to fill out in the Athletic Department office. Thank you!

 

  • Save the date!  Bring a date! (Or a friend). The Purdue Varsity Glee Club and Chamber Choir will hold a concert here at Eastern with the Encore singers opening the event.  The concert will be Friday, January 31 at 7:30pm.  Get your tickets at booktix.comor see Mrs. Larson.

 

  • Interact Club is having a school supplies drive for children in Jamaica, and we would appreciate your help! We are collecting backpacks, notebooks, composition notebooks, crayons, markers, and scissors from January 13th to the 24th! Please bring your donations to the high school office and look for the box labeled “Interact Club Jamaica donations!” If you have any questions, contact Victoria Leeder. Thank you for your help!

  • Come and be a part of the Dodgeball Tournament on Activity night January 24th after the Homecoming game.  Register your team of 10 players (each team must have at least 2-3 girls) with Mrs. Rooze by the end of the day on the 24th!!

 

  • There will be a MANDATORY meeting on Wednesday, January 22 regarding Letterman Jackets. You will need to stop by the Conference Room anytime between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. so you can be sized for your jacket. The payment for your jacket will also be due at the time of sizing.   If you THINK you may be earning a jacket or numerals this winter but want to verify for sure, please see Mrs. Woodall in the Athletic Department before January 22. Thank you!

 

  • Please announce through Wed, Jan. 22:  It’s time to think about spring break 2021!  If you want to travel to Europe next school year, bring a parent and come get more information.  There will be a meeting for a spring break 2021 trip in Mrs. Larson’s room on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7pm.  Learn about the trip and our fundraisers.

 

 

  • Juniors: If you did not attend the junior class meeting, please see Mrs. Eikenberry or Mrs. Bickel for an order form and information sheet.

 

  • The boys and girls varsity swim teams both fell to Rochester last night. First place finishers included: Lauryn Shane, Jacob Tucker, McKenLee Morgan, Porter Brovont, Brittney Eckart, Matt Laubenstein, Lola Williams, and the boys 200 Free Relay team.  The Comets have their last home meet on Tuesday January 21st against Western.  Come out and support your Comets!

 

  • Lost & Found is overflowing! Please stop by and see if anything is yours.

  • Last night, both the Boys and Girls Swim Teams took home victories over Lewis Cass in their first meet back in the pool after break.  The boys won with a score of 112 to 54 and the girls defeated Cass with a score of 91-89.

First place finishers included: Andrew Hartman, Matt Laubenstein, Jacob Tucker, Porter Brovont, Ella Kantz, Lauryn Shane, McKenLee Morgan, Cora Kendall, and Lola Williams.  The boys team also took first place in all three relays while the girls won the 200 Freestyle relay.  Great job Comets!  The Comets swim at home against Carroll and Elwood this Saturday at 10am.  Come out and support your Comet swimmers and divers!

  • There will be an art club meeting this Tuesday,  January 7th, from 3:15-3:45 in the art room.

 

  • The Eastern Bowling Teams competed in Sectionals this past Saturday, and for the first time in school history, the boys varsity team captured the Kokomo Sectional Championship!  The squad of Brayden Utterback, Austin Capps, Austin Lamberson, Ethan Preston, Alex Coleman, Ricky Sample-Ward and Josh Fike defeated arch-rival Western by 30 pins in a two game roll-off to claim the title.  The team now advances to the Crawfordsville Regional on January 18.  Also, all 12 Eastern bowlers will also compete for individual Kokomo Sectional honors on January 11.

 

  • Members of the English Bowl team: Don’t forget that our weekly practices begin tomorrow morning, Tuesday, at 7:30 in Mr. Crawford’s room. This week, Mr. Crawford will also bring Dan’s Donuts for you to enjoy during practice!
