Eastern High School Announcements

Attention Juniors and Seniors –  A representative from Indiana University Kokomo will be at Eastern on Monday, September 19 at 10:30.  If you would like to learn more about IUK, please sign up with Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office by Thursday, September 15.

Attention middle school students. FCA for middle school students will begin tomorrow the 14^th  after school until 4 in Ms. Carpenters room.  During FCA we will do a lesson and have snack. If you are interested in joining FCA please plan to attend.

Attention middle school students. FCA for middle school students will begin  on Wednesday,  September 14 after school until 4 in Ms. Carpenters room.  During FCA we will do a lesson and have snack. Wednesday September 7, 2022

 

The boys cross country team lost to an outstanding Clinton Prairie team last night by a score of 43-15.  Obi Greene and Kamp Miller led the Comets with 6th- and 7th-place finishes.  Good job, Comets!

The girls cross country team lost to Clinton Prairie by a score of 15-50.  Ava Kantz won the race, while Alesia Rummel and Claire Wavra were 8th and 9th, respectively.  Good job, Comets!

The Lady Comets lost to Western last night 3 – 7, but they played well and continue improve overall! Makenna Brooks had a goal and an assist, Claire Hapner and Lydia Hertzog each scored a goal, Grace VanBibber had an assist, and Ruby Sheets had 9 saves. Go Lady Comets!!!

All seniors interested in going on this year’s senior trip. There will be a mandatory meeting tonight, September 7th. The meeting will be in the cafeteria at 8:30 pm. This is scheduled late so you can make it after your extra curricular events. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Senior trip meeting – tonight, September 7, cafeteria, 8:30 pm.

There will be a student council meeting at 7:45AM on Wednesday, September 7 in Mrs. Nibert’s Room! Be sure to come with ideas for themes for Homecoming!!

Are you a student who loves technology? Do you love to tinker? Do you like to make stuff? If this is you, please come to the Middle School Tech Club Fridays after school from 3:15 to 4:15PM. EHS will have homeroom on Thursday, September 1st.  ALL Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors will need to go to their assigned homerooms after 2nd period.  ALL Seniors will report to the PAC for important Senior information immediately after 2nd period.

The boys cross country team lost to Madison-Grant, 38-23, but raced really well.  Obi Greene took the top individual spot in a time of 19:25.  It was senior night and seniors Sam Duke and Nate King also raced well, with Nate setting a 37-second personal record of 25:55.  Jakob Bertoline also set a new personal record of 22:30.  Great job, Comets!

The girls cross country team beat Madison-Grant on senior night, taking the top 3 individual spots in the race.  Ava Kantz won the race in 23:09, with Lily Greene in second, and senior Alesia Rummel in 3rd.  Hailey Rose and Claire Wavra sealed the win.  Congratulations, Comets!

 

The girls soccer team fell to Tri Central last night after double overtime and a shootout. Lydia Hertzog had 8 saves and an assist, Grace VanBibber had a brace (2 goals), Kate Hubbard had a goal (PK) and an assist, Makenna Brooks had a goal, and Lilly Shallenberger had an assist. Their next game is tonight versus Mississinewa at home! Come out to support your lady comets!

Greetings! If you are interested in becoming a class officer or would like to nominate a friend/classmate, please e-mail me, Mrs. Ferguson (first and last name). The freshmen class officers will help to organize homecoming events and class fundraisers. We will have four officers to represent our class. Please e-mail me if you have questions. Nominations are due Today. We will vote for our officers next week.

Calling all EASTERN COMET fans! The senior class will be selling cotton candy and sno-cones at the home football game against Northwestern tonight! All proceeds will be donated for the planning of our senior fling! Snow cones and cotton candy will be sold for $1

“Rocket League tryouts are today after school in Mr. Johnson’s room until 5:00.  The usual HEROES Club meeting is canceled.”

The Lady Comets beat Peru last night 4-1. Makenna Brooks had 2 goals, Grace VanBibber had 2 assists, Lydia Hertzog had 1 goal, Lilly Greene had 1 goal, Brooklyn Brooks had 1 assist, Julia Salkie had 1 assist, and Ruby Sheets had 2 saves. Shoutout to Jessie Shannon and Lilly Shallenberger who played excellent defense only allowing 2 shots on goal. Great teamwork ladies!
