    Eastern High School Announcements

Thursday February 23, 2023.

Students who are interested in Eastern’s Driver’s Education class, please stop by the High School office to pick up information. If you have any questions, please email Ms. Carpenter or Mr. Bedwell.

There will be an informational meeting for any high school student interested in teaching swim lessons this summer. The meeting will be in Mrs. Nibert’s room (room 101) Tuesday, February 28th at 3:30. This is a great opportunity to earn some money this summer while having your afternoons free, and it teaches kids a lifesaving skill! If you cannot attend the meeting, but would still like information, stop by Mrs. Nibert’s room any time to pick up the information.

All students planning on participating in stage crew for this year’s musical, The Music Man, there will be a meeting on today after school in the choir room. —

Attention all prospective high school baseball players.  There will be a meeting today at 3:15 in the cafeteria to discuss information about the upcoming season.  This will be a short, but important meeting as we discuss tryouts, team apparel, and fundraisers.  If for some reason you can’t attend, please see Mr. Hisner.

Diversity Club will have its first call out meeting on Thursday morning in the library community room. It is a student lead group to talk about diverse topics and conversations. For questions about the club, please contact Bella Doll.

The H.E.R.O.E.S. Club is adding a competitive Overwatch 2 team.  This team will compete remotely against Taylor, Kokomo, and Western.  Tryouts are just around the corner.  If you have any interest, please see Mr. Johnson as soon as possible!

The next English bowl meeting will be Mon., Feb. 20, at 7:35 AM.

The Eastern bowling coach will have information about Middle School boys and girls bowling tomorrow, February 16 in the cafeteria during your lunch period.  No previous bowling experience is necessary.

“Reminder: softball open gyms are Monday & Wednesdays at 3:45 in the batting cage room, conditioning is on Thursdays at 3:45. Tryouts will begin the week of March 6th.  Please reach out to Coach Shively with any questions.”

Attention Junior/Seniors:  a representative from Lincoln Tech will be visiting Eastern on Thursday, Feb 16 at 10:30.  If you are interested in attending this meeting with Lincoln Tech, please sign up in the Guidance Office by Tuesday, Feb 14.

Attention Juniors and Seniors  – Purdue Kokomo  will be at Eastern on Monday, February 13 @ 9:30.    If you would like to learn more about Purdue Kokomo, please sign up with Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office by Friday, February 10th.

Attention all girls and boys playing Middle School Soccer.  Please stop by Mr. Stout’s room (Room 309 in the math wing) and pick up a registration form that must be filled out.

Attention all who are participating in boys track and field and are not in a winter sport. There is conditioning every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:30-5. Meet in the cafeteria after school!!

“Hotbox pizza and breadsticks will be sold at this Friday’s basketball game. All proceeds will go toward funding the Senior Fling. A slice of pizza is $3, and three breadsticks with cheese will be $5.”

THERE WILL BE A MANDATORY MEETING IN MRS. LARSON’S ROOM WEDNESDAY MORNING, FEB. 8, AT 7:50AM. EVEN IF YOU ARRIVE LATE, GO TO SCHOOL, GO STRAIGHT TO MRS. LARSON’S ROOM.  WE WILL BE COVERNING IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

“If you are earning a letter jacket this winter, please stop by the Athletic Office on Thursday, Feb. 9, between 8:45 and 3:00 to be sized for your jacket. The payment for your jacket will also be due at the time of sizing. If you THINK you should be earning a jacket but didn’t receive a letter about it, please see Mrs. Woodall in the Athletic Department.”
