Eastern High School Announcements

Friday March 3, 2023.

Seniors: The Senior Fling will take place graduation night, June 4th from 9:00 pm – 1:00 am. There will be games, food and prizes. Seniors can purchase a ticket in the High School Office, from Mrs. Appleton, for $25 by March 25th or $30 after spring break.

Purchase your ticket before spring break and you’ll have a chance to win $50.

There will be NO middle school girls’ soccer practice today after school.

SPANISH CLUB MEMBERS:
We are headed to a concert celebrating the songs and memory of Selena Quintanilla (KEEN tahn YEE ah).
The concert is in Lafayette on Friday, April 14 after school.  Tickets are free but limited.  We will meet at the school and take a bus to and from the concert. Sign up in Mrs. Larson’s room by Wednesday, March 8 to secure your seat.

SADD Club will have a meeting after school Tuesday March 7th in the nurse’s office.

Attention Juniors and Seniors  – University of Northern Ohio  will be at Eastern on Tuesday, March 7.     If you would like to learn more about UNOH, please sign up with Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office by Monday March 6.

Attention any Junior Girls interested in finding out more about Hoosier Girls State.  We will have a call out meeting on Friday, March 10 at 8:30 in the Library Community Room.   Please sign up in the Guidance Office with Mrs. Koziel by Thursday, March 9.

Wednesday March 1, 2023.

Last night the academic super bowl teams competed at Marion High School.  They dominated the competition by earning first place in English (Jace Forgave and Allie Adams, Science (Porter Stone and Grace VanBibber), and Social Studies (Phillip Beedham and Porter Stone).  Great job academic teams!!!

There will be an informational meeting for any high school student interested in teaching swim lessons this summer. The meeting will be in Mrs. Nibert’s room (room 101) Tuesday, February 28th at 3:30. This is a great opportunity to earn some money this summer while having your afternoons free, and it teaches kids a lifesaving skill! If you cannot attend the meeting, but would still like information, stop by Mrs. Nibert’s room any time to pick up the information.

“How was Mr. Sloniker’s Saturday you ask? It was GOLDEN.  11 Eastern band students traveled to North Central HS for ISSMA State Solo and Ensemble.  11 students walked away with GOLD.  Students Porter Stone, Alli DeYoung, Nathan Rush and Allie Adams all took solos today and all received gold ratings.  Allie Adams also took a violin solo and received GOLD with distinction!  Winter Percussion students Nathan Rush, Porter Stone, Nichole King, Claire Rush, Kolton Lybrook, Ethan Heck, Vex Williams, Evan McGlothlin, and Kaelyn Kernel participated in a large percussion ensemble.

Attention all prospective high school baseball players.  There will be a meeting today at 3:15 in the cafeteria to discuss information about the upcoming season.  This will be a short, but important meeting as we discuss tryouts, team apparel, and fundraisers.  If for some reason you can’t attend, please see Mr. Hisner.

The H.E.R.O.E.S. Club is adding a competitive Overwatch 2 team.  This team will compete remotely against Taylor, Kokomo, and Western.  Tryouts are just around the corner.  If you have any interest, please see Mr. Johnson as soon as possible!
