Eastern High School Announcements

Monday August 7, 2023.

The Eastern Lady Comet soccer team is looking for a manager this season. Also, it’s not too late to come out and play! It’s going to be a great season! Please see Profe Lorenz in room 302 for more information.

 

Art club callout will be Wednesday August 16th. It will be right after school and will only last about 30 minutes.

 

Middle School volleyball practice will be in the Auxiliary gym after school today.

 

HS Students Remember if you need to drop/add a class you must fill out the form Mrs. Slee emailed to you by Tuesday, Aug 8th at 3:30.

 

There will be a call-out meeting for any high school student interested in joining student council on Thursday, August 10, at 7:45 in Mrs. Nibert’s room (Room 101).  The Student Council plans activities for the whole school, like Homecoming! If that sounds interesting to you, plan to attend the meeting on Thursday!

 

Any boy in grades 9-12 interested in playing soccer this season should email or see Mr. Stout in Rm. 309

 

Want to be in the spotlight? Drama Club is holding a call out meeting August 11th at 5:30. The fall play will be announced at that time so you don’t want to miss it! The  meeting is for both high school and middle school students. Email Ms. Maxwell if you can’t attend. Parents are welcome to come too.

 

Attention all middle school and high school students who love Taco Tuesday, Frida Kahlo and Shakira.

Anyone who is interested in learning about the Hispanic Culture and wants to learn a few Spanish words:

We will have our callout meeting, complete with piñata, on Wednesday, Aug. 8 from 3:20-4:00pm.

Wednesday August 3, 2023.

“There will be a middle school tennis call out on Thursday from 3:30-4pm at the old tennis courts.  Practice will start on Monday August 7th at 5:30 at the new courts.  Please make sure you have your physical and school paperwork completed so you can start practice on Monday.  Contact Coach Flanary or Coach Bedwell if you have any questions.”

Any 7^th or 8^th grade girl interested in volleyball; practices will be right after school from 330-5 in the fieldhouse. Parent meeting will be at 5:00 on Friday August 4^th. You must have a completed physical on file in the athletic office to participate.

Soccer season is incoming! There will be a call out meeting for all high school girls interested in playing varsity soccer next school year on MONDAY MAY 22nd after school from 3:20-3:40 in Profe Lorenz’s room 302. All middle school girls are welcome to attend as well to get information to join in for summer workouts! Hope to see you there!

 

Any student who would like to join the cross country team—the callout meeting will be on Tuesday, May 23, at 7:45, in Coach Cox’s room.  Come to join the fun, and bring all your friends with you!

 

Any 8^th through 11^th grade girls interested in basketball, please stop by Mr. Fleenor’s room to get information about summer workouts.

 

Students who signed up for the May 20th driver’s ed class should have received a form from the office with instructions regarding class on Saturday. Make sure to bring the BMV Manuel and a check to pay for class if you have not already paid.

Students who have already attended the first class in April, and have gotten their permits, please email Ms. Carpenter to let her know you have your permit if you have not done so already.

Attention middle school students: Tonight we will celebrate the ending of this school year with a dance and activity night from 6-10PM. Admission is $10.00, enter through door 8.

Coach Justice would like to give a shout out to the 8th grade girls soccer players.  The girls did great this season and we cannot wait to see what they do in high school.  Jenna was working hard and continuing to fight for the ball.  Sydney was hustling and was first to the ball the entire game.  Zoe was hustling as well. Also, a BIG thanks to Grace Vanbibber for all leading the team and doing a fantastic job coaching the girls.  Great season girls!

or at the door for $5. All seats are reserved.

This is the last concert of the year. Please come and support the choir and the seniors in their final performance.

The annual American Red Cross blood drive will be on Monday, May 15 in the PAC lobby. You must be at least 16 years old to donate. Sign up on the bulletin board in front of Mrs. Foland’s room. Once a blood donor, always a life saver.

Join summer reading during the month of May.  This week, we will be having a Popcorn Bar in the library.  Stop by and get some popcorn and add your favorite toppings.  Check out the prizes in the showcase across from the library.  Earn 5 tickets to spin the wheel and get your name in the drawing for these great prizes.
