*There will be an informational meeting for any high school student interested in teaching swim lessons this summer on April 17th right after school in Mrs. Nibert’s room.  If you are looking for a fun summer job, enjoy working with kids, and have some knowledge of swimming skills, this could be a great opportunity for you! If you cannot make the meeting, be sure to see Mrs. Nibert to pick up the information.

*Spanish Club members- if you are going on the field trip Friday turn in your permission slip and money to Mrs. Larson on Tuesday. If you have not picked up a permission slip or field trip information and are interested in going, see Mrs. Larson.

*Girls Track places fifth at Big Orange Invite at Hamilton Heights.  The Comets were led by Makenna Brooks, who had an amazing day.  She won the 100m dash, 200m dash, and long jump.

She set a school record in the 200 m dash, and due to all her efforts was named the Outstanding Female Athlete for the meet.  

Other athletes who placed at Big Orange were Hannah Morrisett who placed third in pole vault.

Ava Kantz placed third and set a PR in the 800 m run; Elisabeth Bruno placed third in shot put and fourth in discus;

Lily Greene placed fourth in high jump, tying her PR; Zoey Sexton got a PR in 400 m dash.

Haven Gunderson setting season bests in the hurdles.  Cora Gunderson got a PR for her 400.

The Comets take on Delphi and Tri-Central tonight at Delphi.

*The National Honor Society’s annual blood drive will be this Friday, April 19th. The American Red Cross will be here to collect donations from students and staff between 2nd and 6th periods. Anyone 16 and older is eligible to donate. Sign up on the bulletin board outside of Mrs. Foland’s room.

*Can you escape Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria in time???  Get your friends and join the library as we host an escape room this Saturday, May 20.  Stop in or call the library to register a time.  You’ll have 30 minutes to escape.  Good luck!!!!!!

*”The Comet Command will be holding Color Guard call outs and Drum Line call outs next Wednesday from 5:30 – 7:30. All students are welcome 7 – 12.  This is a call out for the upcoming 2024 – 2025 season.  Contact Mr. Sloniker if you have any questions!”

*A mandatory meeting for all students enrolled in Driver’s Ed this summer will be held Friday, April 12, at 7:45 AM in the cafeteria. At the meeting BMV manuals will be available along with information to prepare students for the first class. If your bus arrives later, come to the meeting as soon as you arrive at school.

*There will be no middle school golf practice today.

*”Coach Justice would like to acknowledge several of the MS girls’ soccer team players.

Emma Justice, way to be there. We lost count of how many shots you blocked.

Cambri Salsbery, way to cover your teammates when they needed it.

Ella Pickett, thank you for stepping into all the roles.

Londyn Coffman, fantastic job at defending.  You never gave up or stopped fighting for the ball.

For this past Tuesday’s game, congratulations to Lauren Hilsinger on getting a goal!

She was assisted by Jenna Shidler.

Annabelle Waite, way to hold off the other team and move the ball.

Sydnee Parker, way to think through the plays and be aggressive.

* SPANISH CLUB MEMBERS PLANNING TO ATTEND THE NEWFIELDS FIELD TRIP ON APRIL 19:  THERE IS A MANDATORY MEETING IN MRS. LARSON’S ROOM ON THURSDAY MORNING AT 7:50AM

*Girls Track team defeated Clinton Prairie and Taylor last night and are 3-0 to start the season!

The Comets were led by triple winner Makenna Brooks (100, 200, and Long Jump)

Ava Kantz (1600 m run and 4 x400 relay–with Allie Hueston, Zoey Sexton, and Cora Gunderson)

*Walk A Mile participants:

Congratulations on raising $1571 for the Rescue Mission this year.  Eastern High School and Middle School raised $350 more than last year.  Great effort! You earned the pink trophy but more importantly you are helping a lot of people that are in need.

*Walk A Mile participants- Congratulations on winning the pink shoe trophy for being the school raising the most money for the Rescue Mission. On Tuesday, March 19 we will have a trophy presentation and photo.  Wear your Walk A Mile shirt and meet in front of the high school office at 8am next Tuesday.

* ATTN Seniors: Herff Jones will be here tomorrow, the 19^th during lunch to deliver all items that were ordered for graduation.

*Congratulations to the Cast and Crew of “Beauty and the Beast” for two fantastic performances!

*Congratulations to the Middle School Choir for receiving a GOLD at the ISSMA Organizational Choir Contest on Saturday.

* Seniors! Do you have too much money? Here’s a great way to get rid of some of it! Senior Fling is the night of graduation and is a mere 25$ CASH per ticket if you purchase before spring break! But wait, there’s more! If you register before break, you’ll be in a drawing for a gift card! Wow! After break, tickets will be 30$
