Eastern High School Announcements

There will be a student council meeting at 7:45AM on Wednesday, September 7 in Mrs. Nibert’s Room! Be sure to come with ideas for themes for Homecoming!!

Are you a student who loves technology? Do you love to tinker? Do you like to make stuff? If this is you, please come to the Middle School Tech Club Fridays after school from 3:15 to 4:15PM. We will meet this Friday right after school downstairs in Mr. Mink’s room 317. See Mr. Mink if you are not able to attend the meeting. See ya soon!

All seniors interested in going on this year’s senior trip. There will be a mandatory meeting next Wednesday, September 7th. The meeting will be in the cafeteria at 8:30 pm. This is scheduled late so you can make it after your extra curricular events. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Senior trip meeting – Wednesday, September 7, cafeteria, 8:30 pm.

Student Council will plan middle school dances, service projects and many more fun activities.  There will be a late bus at 4 for students who need to ride the bus home. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Carpenter or Mr. Fleenor.

Sunshine club will have a call out meeting Thursday Sept. 8^th @ 745 in Mrs. Meador’s room. (run until 7^th)

EHS will have homeroom on Thursday, September 1st.  ALL Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors will need to go to their assigned homerooms after 2nd period.  ALL Seniors will report to the PAC for important Senior information immediately after 2nd period.

The boys cross country team lost to Madison-Grant, 38-23, but raced really well.  Obi Greene took the top individual spot in a time of 19:25.  It was senior night and seniors Sam Duke and Nate King also raced well, with Nate setting a 37-second personal record of 25:55.  Jakob Bertoline also set a new personal record of 22:30.  Great job, Comets!

The girls cross country team beat Madison-Grant on senior night, taking the top 3 individual spots in the race.  Ava Kantz won the race in 23:09, with Lily Greene in second, and senior Alesia Rummel in 3rd.  Hailey Rose and Claire Wavra sealed the win.  Congratulations, Comets!

 

The girls soccer team fell to Tri Central last night after double overtime and a shootout. Lydia Hertzog had 8 saves and an assist, Grace VanBibber had a brace (2 goals), Kate Hubbard had a goal (PK) and an assist, Makenna Brooks had a goal, and Lilly Shallenberger had an assist. Their next game is tonight versus Mississinewa at home! Come out to support your lady comets!

ATTENTION MIDDLE SCHOOL TENNIS PLAYERS: PRACTICE FOR TONIGHT IS CANCELLED.

Greetings! If you are interested in becoming a class officer or would like to nominate a friend/classmate, please e-mail me, Mrs. Ferguson (first and last name). The freshmen class officers will help to organize homecoming events and class fundraisers. We will have four officers to represent our class. Please e-mail me if you have questions. Nominations are due Today. We will vote for our officers next week.

Calling all EASTERN COMET fans! The senior class will be selling cotton candy and sno-cones at the home football game against Northwestern tonight! All proceeds will be donated for the planning of our senior fling! Snow cones and cotton candy will be sold for $1

“Rocket League tryouts are today after school in Mr. Johnson’s room until 5:00.  The usual HEROES Club meeting is canceled.”

The Lady Comets beat Peru last night 4-1. Makenna Brooks had 2 goals, Grace VanBibber had 2 assists, Lydia Hertzog had 1 goal, Lilly Greene had 1 goal, Brooklyn Brooks had 1 assist, Julia Salkie had 1 assist, and Ruby Sheets had 2 saves. Shoutout to Jessie Shannon and Lilly Shallenberger who played excellent defense only allowing 2 shots on goal. Great teamwork ladies!

It’s finally here… the moment you’ve all been waiting for… the Drama Club call-out meeting will be Wednesday the 24th after school in Mr. Johnson’s room!  Come hear about this year’s show and lots of additional information regarding auditions!  The meeting should end by 4:00. See you there! ( Run through the 8/24/2022)

It’s finally here… the moment you’ve all been waiting for… the Drama Club call-out meeting will be Wednesday the 24th after school in Mr. Johnson’s room!  Come hear about this year’s show and lots of additional information regarding auditions!  The meeting should end by 4:00. Despite an incomplete team finish at the Logansport Invitational on Saturday, the girls cross country team raced very well.  Ava Kantz placed 20th, while Alesia Rummel and Lily Greene placed 31st and 34th.  All three girls put in times better than any of their races on that course last year.  Great job, Comets!

The boys cross country team placed 14th in the Logansport Invitational on Saturday, beating 15th-place Kokomo on tiebreakers.  Obi Greene led the team a 36-second PR to finish 19th.  Reagan Long was the tie-breaking runner, beating Kokomo’s #6 runner by over a minute.  Congratulations, Comets!

The Lady Comets won last night at North Miami. Brooklyn Brooks had a goal along with Makenna Brooks. Emma Budde had an assist. And Julia Salkie had 4 saves. Nice job ladies!!!

Attention summer driver’s ed students, if any driver’s ed student did not receive the Driver’s Ed form for completing driver’s ed in the mail, see Ms. Carpenter before Friday

Picture Day for EHS is Friday, Aug 19th.  All Students, including Seniors, are required to get their pictures taken for Student ID’s.  However, you are NOT required to purchase a picture package.    Please contact Mrs. Appleton if you have any questions.

Art club call-out will be today after school in the art room. Any questions see Ms. Nile.

Announcement:

Are you interested in helping out your community and gaining community service hours? If so, then join our Key Club call out meeting this Friday, August 19th at 7:45 before school. We will be providing doughnuts and planning events for this year, so stop by!
