 Monday January 22, 2024

 *Middle School and High School students and staff- everyone is invited to participate in Walk A Mile for the Rescue Mission on Saturday, Feb. 24.  Details coming soon! Mark your calendars so we can be the school to bring home the big pink shoe!

*Did you know that we have an esports/gaming club here at Eastern? HEROES Club meets Thursdays after school in the computer lab. We offer competitive and casual gaming in a supportive, collaborative environment. We are currently gearing up for our Super Smash Bros season. Join us after school this Thursday for our spring call out meeting–bring a friend, check out the new computers, and see what HEROES Club is all about!

*There will be a call out meeting for boys’ track and field in the cafeteria today at 3:30. If you are in a winter sport, are interested in track, but cannot attend the meeting, please stop by the athletic office to grab a handout.

*The dodgeball tournament has been postponed to a later date and more information will be available soon.

Tomorrow will be green and gold day!

*Tuesday January 16th, there will be a call out meeting for boy’s track and field in the cafeteria at 3:30. If you are in a winter sport, are interested in track, but cannot attend the meeting, please stop by the athletic office to grab a handout.

*Anyone interested in participating in MS track should sign up in the MS office starting today. Those not participating in a winter sport will start conditioning on Thursday, February 1^st after school from 3:25-4:30. We will have conditioning on Mondays and Thursdays. Official practice will start on Monday, March 4^th.

* Reminder we will NOT be in school on Monday.

*The High School Student Council will be hosting a Winter
Homecoming/Semi-Formal Dance on Saturday, January 20, from 7-10pm in the High School Cafeteria! Tickets will be $10 and will go on sale before school in the cafeteria. Tickets can be purchased throughout the day from Mrs. Nibert’s room (room 101). Ticket sales will end the following Wednesday, January 17. Anyone wanting to bring a date from another school/not a current Eastern Student will need to pick up a permission form in the high school office. This dance is for HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, ONLY! If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Nibert.

Studies show that the chances of having a movie day in class are significantly higher if a teacher is on the winning dodgeball team. Remember, there are two ways to win in this year’s dodgeball tournament: Make it to the end and win it all… or be voted as “best team name.” Submit your entry forms to the athletic office by this Friday. *The girls swim team picked up a well-fought victory over Northwestern last night! The final score was 98-80! Individual first place finishes came from Ava Kantz, Grace VanBibber, and Johanna Hanneken.  The 200 and 400 Free Relay teams also snagged the gold! Way to go, ladies!! The Comets swim Rochester at home tomorrow!!

*Attention High School students:  If you NEED to request a schedule change you MUST fill out the form that Mrs. Slee or Mr. Johnson emailed you.  The form MUST be completed by 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9th to be considered for a schedule change.  Also, please make sure you are following the schedule that is currently in skyward.

*Any high school girl interested in playing tennis this spring we will have a call out meeting, Monday Jan 8^th right after school, meet in the cafeteria.

*There will be a FINAL planning meeting on Thursday the 4th @ 8 pm in the study hall room for all of those going on the senior trip. Please plan on attending.
