Eastern High School Announcements

Wednesday November 8, 2023.

The drama club presents Alice in Wonderland! Come see the show on November 17 and 18th.  Tickets are on sale at Eastern.booktix for 10 dollars. You must attend this very important date and don’t be late!

Spanish Club members:

The Spanish Club meeting for today is cancelled.  Listen to announcements and check Remind texts for the makeup meeting time.

The Middle School student council will have their next meeting on Thursday, November 9th after school.

Any boy or girl in 6th to 8th grade who is interested in Wrestling, we will have our first practice on Monday, November 13 in the wrestling room from 5-6:30.

Girls’ Track and Field conditioning continues Thursday this week.  Girls planning on participating in track and field who are not currently in a winter sport are welcome to come!  You must have a physical completed to attend. 

We will meet in the cafeteria at 3:30, then we will go lift in the weight room.

“High school softball conditioning will begin TOMORROW, Tuesday November 7th and will be on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4:30-6:00. Please meet outside of the weight room no later than 4:15.”

Spanish Club members:

We will have a short meeting Wednesday after school from 3:15-3:45 to do some planning and design a tile. See you Wednesday!

Girls track off season conditioning will be today from 3:30-4:30. Please meet in the cafeteria at 3:30.

The 2024 Variety Show will be tonight at 7:00 in

the PAC. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at eastern.booktix.com

or at the door. This show will be general admission, no reserved seating.

Please come and be ready to place your vote for the best overall act

of the night. That’s right, you, the audience will be the judge for the

best talent of the evening. Hope to see you there!

Middle School student council will have their next meeting today after school.

This Friday, November 3 is the last day to sign up for the ping pong tournament in the library.  The tournament will be held on Wednesday, Nov 15 right after school.  See one of the librarians to sign up.

The 2024 Spring Musical will be “Beauty and the Beast”!

The enchanted castle is back! Look for information about the

musical to be posted in the choir hallway within the next couple

of weeks. Auditions will take place January 2nd, 3rd, and 8th.

“Any HIGH SCHOOL student that would like to ride the bus to Bluffton for the football game this Friday, November 3, please sign up in the high school office. The bus will leave promptly at 5:15 p.m. Please note: if you ride the bus to the game, you must also ride the bus home from the game. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Hisner or Jenna Odle.”

The Spell Bowl team finished their season last night at Area Competition. For their region, they brought home first-place ribbons and ended up placing 11th overall among all Class 3 schools in the state. Grace VanBibber had a perfect round and will be eligible to compete at the Individual Spell Bowl Finals on November 15th. Be sure to wish her luck and well done to all spellers!

Any boy or girl that missed the wrestling call out meeting and is interested in wrestling this year, please see Coach Pence in the wrestling room after school this week. Practices will start Monday, October 30^th.

 

Any high school boy interested in swimming or diving that was unable to make it to the call out meeting can pick up the paperwork from Coach Sarah at the pool right after school today.

 

Attention Juniors and Seniors – A representative from Indiana Wesleyan will be at Eastern on Tuesday, October 31 at 11:40.  If you would like to learn more about IWU, please sign up with Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office by Monday, October 30.

Girls interested in preseason track and field conditioning:  there will be a short informational meeting today at 3:15 in the cafeteria.  We will decide the two best days to have after-school conditioning and discuss workouts.  Workouts will begin the following week.
THIS CONDITIONING IS FOR ATHLETES NOT PARTICIPATING IN A WINTER SPORT, and you must have a physical on file to come.
If you can’t make the meeting, but would like information, please see/ email Mrs. Kantz!

Congratulations to Obi Greene!  On Saturday, at the Brownsburg Regional, Obi tied his personal record of 16:08 to place 25th and move on the State cross country meet in Terre Haute next Saturday.  Obi ran an outstanding race.  Great job!
