The Variety Show will be Thursday, Nov. 3 at 7:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased at easter.booktix.com. All tickets are $5 and reserved seating. The audience will select the winner for the show-so come and enjoy the show.

 

The high school Spell Bowl team not only placed first within their class at Area Competition, but also beat out ALL OTHER CLASSES with an astounding 55 points!  Tyler Wright scored a near-perfect round, and the whole team had a tremendous showing–well done, spellers!

Attention Juniors and Seniors –  A representative from Indiana Tech  will be at Eastern on Monday,  November 7 at 1:45.  If you would like to learn more about Indiana Tech, please sign up with Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office by Friday, November 4th.

 Middle School students, the form to invite Veterans to the program can be picked up in your Social Studies classrooms, Allison, Fleenor, and Stites. Forms need to be returned by November 4. Please have students return the forms to their SS teachers. Mr. Stites will collect the forms from the SS teachers.

There will be call outs for 8th grade boys interested in playing basketball this Friday, October 28th during lunch. Tryouts will be held on Tuesday, November 1st and Wednesday, November 2nd from 6:00p to 7:45p in the main gym. In order to participate in tryouts, students must have a current physical on file. Physical forms are available in the athletic office

All current National Honors Society Members… we will have a meeting THIS Wednesday morning at 7:45 in Mrs. Eikenberry’s classroom room 131. See you then 🙂

 Ava Kantz and Alesia Rummel competed in the Culver Academies cross country regional meet over Fall break.  Both raced well!  Ava placed 37th with a time of 21:51, outperforming her close competition to come within one place of moving on to the Semi State meet.  Alesia finished her career with an 80th place finish in 25:12. Great job, Comets!

There will be no HEROES Club meeting this afternoon–REPEAT: NO HEROES CLUB MEETING TODAY.

Tomorrow will be a homeroom day. KACC students please plan accordingly.

5th grade boys interested in basketball will have open gyms this week today and tomorrow from 5:30 – 7:00. Reach out to Coach Kretz if you have any questions.

If you did not receive your report card on Friday, please stop by and see Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office today

On Saturday, the girls cross country team placed 8th in the Logansport Sectional.  Ava Kantz was the top finisher for the Comets, placing 24th with a time of 22:12.  Addie Conner finished the season with a 33-second personal record time of 26:52.  Ava Kantz, Lily Greene, and Alesia Rummel all qualified for the Culver Academies Regional next week!  Congratulations, Comets!

On Saturday, the boys cross country team placed 9th in the Logansport Sectional.  Obi Greene led the Comets with a 14th-place finish in 18:06.  Reagan Long finished the season with a 22-second personal record of 22:37.  Obi’s performance earned him the opportunity to move on to next week’s Culver Academies Regional.  Congratulations, Comets!

Friday October 7, 2022

 The Lady Comets beat Rossville last night 3 – 0 and now advances to the sectional championship versus Tipton. Brooklyn Brooks led the Comets with two goals – both scored off penalty kicks taken from outside the box. Jadelyn Secrease added an impressive goal by scoring off a quick break away. Keeper Ruby Sheets played an outstanding game in goal with 11 saves to keep the Comets with a clean sheet. Come out tomorrow, Saturday at 2pm at Tipton High School to support them as they play for the Sectional title! We are so proud of you ladies! Go get the W.

.Bona Vista, a nonprofit organization, is collecting dresses and tuxes for their annual All Abilities prom. The collection will run from today through October 14. Bring in your dresses and tuxes to Mrs. Slee’s office and contact her or Clara Williams if you have any questions!
