Eastern High School Announcements

Thursday September 22, 2022

The library is having a call out meeting today at 3:10 for anyone interested in being on the library advisory board to help plan activities for the library.  The meeting will end by 4:00.  Please see Mrs. K if you have questions.

“A call out meeting for the Eastern High School boys and girls bowling teams will be held today at 3:15 in the cafeteria.  Team members are needed for boys varsity and JV and girls varsity and JV teams.  No previous bowling experience is necessary.”

Attention Juniors and Seniors Guys  – Wabash College will be at Eastern on Tuesday, September 27  at 10:30.  If you would like to learn more about Wabash College, please sign up with Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office by Friday, September 23.

Attention Juniors and Seniors  – Purdue University will be at Eastern on Tuesday, September 27  at 1:45.  If you would like to learn more about Purdue College, please sign up with Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office by Friday, September 23.

“Girls Track:   returning athletes, and those who are planning on being on the team this spring– We are planning on organizing a group to volunteer at the Cupcake 5K.  Please try to attend the meeting either before or after school this Thursday, Sept. 22.  Contact Mrs. Kantz for additional information.”

Any Club or Sport interested in having a float/vehicle in the parade needs to sign up on the sheet in the office by Wednesday, September 28th.  All floats/vehicles must have an adult driver.  Please see Mrs. Nibert if you have any questions!

This Friday’s football game, the senior fling committee will be selling Hot Box pizza and breadsticks to raise money! A slice of pizza for $3 and 3 breadsticks w/sauce will be $5. COME HUNGRY to the game!!!

We also will be selling snap bracelets, clappers, pop it bracelets and temporary tattoos!! Lets Go Comets

The Fall Choral Concert, “Let’s Go To the Movies” will be presented tonight at 7:00. Tickets may be purchased at eastern.booktix.com or at the door.

All tickets are $5 and all seats are reserved.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 7^TH AND 8^TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL TEAMS FOR WINNING THE HOOSIER HEARTLAND CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT ON SATURDAY!! GOOD JOB GIRLS!!!

The Lady Comets beat Rossville last night 4-1 with Grace VanBibber leading the team with 2 goals and an assist, Lydia Hertzog scoring a goal, Makenna Brooks scoring a goal, and Alia Dutton with an assist! CRUSHED IT. On Monday they take on Sheridan for the conference championship. LETS GO LADY LADIES.

The Lady Comets battled Oak Hill last night. The Eagles scored after a quick goal on a free kick which resulted in a 1-0 loss. The defense held strong with Ruby Sheets in goal with 12 saves and Jessie Shannon shutting down their offensive attacks. Tomorrow the Lady Comets will play at Rossville in an important conference game. Go Lady Comets!

Attention middle school students. FCA for middle school students will begin  on Wednesday,  September 14 after school until 4 in Ms. Carpenters room.  During FCA we will do a lesson and have snack. If you are interested in joining FCA please plan to attend September 14. If you have any questions, please see Bailey Miller.

Attention middle school students. Student Council will have a meeting Sept. 13 after school in Ms. Carpenter’s room. 7th and 8th grade students who are interested in serving as President, VP, Secretary or Treasurer need to email Ms. C to let her know you are interested in holding an officer position by tomorrow. Student Council members don’t forget to be thinking of dress up days for homecoming week and a middle school dance theme.

There will be a high school Softball call out meeting Monday September 12th @ 3:45, at the varsity field.
