Eastern High School Announcements

Tuesday January 31, 2023.

There will be a Sunshine club meeting Thursday February 2nd @ 7:45 AM in Ms. Meador’s room.

Thursday will be a homeroom day. Sophomores will report to the PAC. Freshman, Juniors and Seniors will report to their homeroom. KACC students please plan accordingly.

Monday January 30, 2023.

Today, January 30th, we will have a call out for Middle School baseball at 7:00 in the library conference room. Any 7th or 8th grader interested in playing should attend this informational meeting.

Join the Eastern Comets team for Walk a Mile for the Rescue Mission on Feb. 11. We have transportation for you from the school that day. Get a packet from Mrs. Larson or Bella Doll.  Everyone who gets a donation for the Rescue Mission will receive a nice long-sleeve shirt, hot breakfast, hot chocolate and cookies!

It’s time for Walk A Mile- an event that supports the Rescue Mission.  Everyone is invited to participate on Feb 11. There will be a meeting in Mrs. Larson’s room with information. Come find out what the event is all about. Eastern will try to keep the pink shoe trophy for being the school raising the most money.  Information meeting will be Friday morning at 7:50am. Join us!

Those going on the senior trip, there is an important planning meeting today at 7 pm in the study hall room. Parents are welcome but do not have to attend. Important info will be discussed, so please plan on attending!

Friendly reminder that today is the last day to purchase Winter Homecoming Dance tickets. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door, so if you are wanting to go, they need to be purchased today.

The English bowl team will begin its weekly meetings at 7:35 AM on Wednesday, Jan. 18.

Juniors: Your J. Edwards order form and money is due tomorrow! Please have all your money in either an envelope or bag with your name on it.

Those going on the senior trip, there is an important planning meeting Wednesday, January 18th at 7 pm in the study hall room. Parents are welcome but do not have to attend. Important info will be discussed, so please plan on attending!

Friendly reminder that Wednesday is the last day to purchase Winter Homecoming Dance tickets.  Tickets are on sale before school in the cafeteria and throughout the day in Mrs. Nibert’s room. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door, so if you are wanting to go, they need to be purchased by Wednesday.

The Eastern Bowling Team took part in Sectional competition over the weekend, with two bowlers successfully advancing to Regionals this Saturday in Kokomo.  Parker Rogers placed second with a three-game score of 570 pins, and Levi Lapp placed sixth with a score of 543.  This is the first time that Eastern has advanced multiple individuals to Regional.  Others competing and bowling over their season averages included Bryce Barker, Jase Cloum, Evan Lapp, Mason Krebs, and Emma Pilon.

There will be a call out meeting for Boys Track and Field in the cafeteria immediately after school today. This meeting will only last 5-10 minutes!! Please make sure you come to the meeting if you have interest in joining. If you are unable to make it, get in contact with Coach Donson. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!

The High School Student Council will be hosting a Winter Homecoming/Semi-Formal Dance on Saturday, January 21, from 7-10pm in the High School Cafeteria! Tickets will be $10. Tickets can be purchased throughout the day from Mrs. Nibert’s room (room 101). Ticket sales will end the following Wednesday, January 18. Anyone wanting to bring a date from another school/not a current Eastern Student will need to pick up a permission form in the high school office. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Nibert.

The HEROES Club will be holding tryouts for their competitive Super Smash Brothers Team.  Over the semester, this team will compete at various in-person meets against Taylor, Kokomo, Tipton, Western, and Marion for the chance at a conference championship.  Tryouts will be after school on January 20th and 23rd.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Johnson, Ms. Maxwell, or Mr. Booher.

Attention Juniors: The J. Edwards fundraiser order forms were given out during US History. If you did not get an order form or information sheet, please see Mrs. Bickel. All order forms and money are due by Wednesday, January 18th.
