*2026 Summer Driver’s Ed information is available in the office for any EHS student who will be 15 years of age before May 31, 2026. Please pick up the information paper from the HS office.

*Middle school student council will be meeting in Ms. Warnock’s room next Tuesday from 3:15 to 4:00 to discuss upcoming events including activity night.

*Girls High school Track and Field callout meeting is taking place NEXT TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH IN THE CAFETERIA AT 3:30. Please come to get information, season schedule, and make sure you’re on the Team GroupMe.
REMINDER: YOU MUST HAVE A PHYSICAL ON FILE IN THE ATHLETIC OFFICE TO PRACTICE! If you have questions, or can’t make the meeting, please contact Mrs. Kantz.

*On February 11th we will be having a call out meeting for high school boys track and field after school at 3:25 in the cafeteria. Come grab some info regarding the upcoming season as we start the following week. Even if you are in a winter sport, swing by and grab the info so you have it!! Go Comets!!

*Attention Juniors and Seniors –  A representative from IU Kokomo will be at Eastern on Tuesday, February 17 at 10:30.   If you would like to learn more about IUK, please sign up with Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office by Monday, February 16.

*Winter Homecoming week is February 9-13!  The dress up days are as follows:

Monday: Jersey Day

Tuesday: Twin Day

Wednesday: All Dressed Up!

Thursday: Color War!

Freshman: Orange

Sophomores: Purple

Juniors: Blue

Seniors: Black

Staff: White

Friday: Green and Gold Day

Dust off those outfits and show your school spirit for homecoming next week!

*The High School Student Council will be hosting a Winter Homecoming/Semi-Formal Dance on Saturday, February 14, from 7-10pm in the High School Cafeteria! Tickets will be $10 and will go on sale Monday, February 9, before school in the cafeteria.  Tickets can be purchased throughout the day from Mrs. Nibert’s room (room 101). Ticket sales will end on Thursday, February 12. No tickets will be sold at the door. Anyone wanting to bring a date from another school/not a current Eastern Student will need to pick up a guest permission form in the high school office. This dance is for high school students only! If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Nibert.

*Are you going to Prom and would like a free dress, corsage, shoes, and accessories? We are giving away
over 1000 BRAND NEW dresses on Saturday March 7th, 2026, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Miami County
4H Fairgrounds in Peru, IN. We invite any high school student in need of a dress to come and receive a
new dress for free, just bring your school ID.

*Attention new middle school National Junior Honor Society inductees. This is a reminder that your ceremony forms are due back to the middle school office by February 4.

*The Middle School Student Council New Year, New Me Dance is still on today from 3:30-5:30. Middle schoolers, please join us for some fun, great music, snacks and drinks. The entry fee is just $5.00. Hope to see you all there.

*The boys varsity swim team picked up another victory over Maconaquah last night.  The boys kept the meet close, and the final score was 93-92! First place finishes came from Grant Kerns, Amos Greene, and Reagan Long. The boys were able to pick up a lot of the 2nd and 3rd place finishes to help them win the meet! Great job, boys!

*Congratulations to the Boys Swim Team for winning their Conference Meet this past Saturday! The boys had a commanding victory over Delphi, Carroll, and Clinton Central.  Individual conference Champions were Grant Kerns in the 50 and 100 Freestyle, Caden Kerns in the 200 IM, and Amos Greene in diving.  The 200 and 400 Free relay teams of Jacob Kerns, Evan Lapp, Caden Kerns and Grant Kerns also took first place.  Overall the boys team had 27 personal best times! Great job, boys!

*The girls swim team finished second at the Heartland Conference meet this past weekend losing to Clinton Central by just 6 points! The girls had first place finishes from Raygan McClain in the 500 free, Mackenzie Appleton in the 100 backstroke, and Jocelyn Rogers in diving. The 400 free relay team of Audrey Higgins, Mackenzie Appleton, Raygan McClain, and Aeralynn Forman also picked up first place.  The girls had 21 season best times! Great gob, ladies!!

*Middle School Fellowship of Christian students will meet this Thursday after school in Ms. Carpenter’s room. All Middle School students are welcome to join us for Fellowship and fun!

*Congratulations to Grant Kerns for breaking the 200 Freestyle record last night in the meet against Western! The previous record from 1977 was 1:52.80, and Grant shattered it with a 1:51.75! Congrats, Grant!!

*Open cages for golf is canceled for tonight.

*Bring your imagination to the library on January 20.  Art Club will begin after school until 4:00.  Register in the library.

*Come join us for prayer and donuts on Wednesday morning January 21st.  We will meet at 7:45 before school in the swim lobby and anyone is welcome to attend!  Come pray for your families, school, country and those in need!

*The Eastern Bowling Team competed in the Lafayette Sectional competition over the weekend, with one bowler successfully advancing to the Kokomo Regional this coming Saturday.  Ronnie Warren advanced by placing ninth out of 66 bowlers with a strong three-game score of 588 pins.  Aaron Matthews and Skylah Causey also bowled well over their season averages but fell just short of advancing.
