*Attention Seniors – Local scholarships are due Friday, April 24.  Please check due dates and get them turned in on time for a chance to win free money!

Prom tickets are on sale today. Ticket sales end on Friday, April 24. No tickets will be sold after Friday. If you are taking a non-Eastern guest, you must have the permission slip signed before you can purchase tickets. Permission slips are located in the main office on bright pink paper. Senior ticket prices are $25 and junior prices are based on the fundraiser.

*Get your Senior Fling money turned in ASAP!

$30 includes food, games, inflatables, door prizes,  dodgeball tournament, and more! Cash payments can be given to Mrs. Eikenberry, or you can use the Venmo/Cash App options posted on the class Instagram account. All tickets MUST be purchased by May 8^th to attend.

*Attention Seniors – ALL Seniors must turn in the bright yellow awards survey to Mrs. Koziel by Wednesday, April 29.  If you are not receiving any awards, please just write none and turn it in to Mrs. Koziel.

* Attention students: The National Honor Society will be hosting a blood drive next Wednesday, April 29th. Donating blood is a simple way to make a real difference and help save lives. If you are eligible and interested in donating, please sign up on the bulletin board outside of Mrs.Foland’s room. Spots are limited, so don’t wait!

*The Eastern Girls track team defeated Delphi and Tri-Central last night.
The Comets swept all the relay events:
4×100 team of Cora Gunderson, Maya Monize, Lainey Newlin, and Skyler Brooks;  the 4×800 team of Malia Shellnut, Maggie Rife, Kaia Roemer, and Raygan McClain;
and the 4×400 team of Gracie Petty, Ava Vanover, Cora Gunderson, and Zoey Sexton.
Other scoring for the Comets:
Skyler Brooks won the 100 m dash
Jenna Shidler won the 1600 and 800m runs
Lainey Newlin won Long Jump
Cora Gunderson won high jump
Zoey Sexton —second in the 400 m dash
Liz Cavazos—second in both shot put and discus
Ava Vanover—second in both 100 and 300 m hurdles
The Comets compete this Saturday at home in the Eastern Relays.

*A big congratulations for a first-place win for the second year for the Battle of the Books team, defeating teams from Howard County. The team of Darya Sedeghat, Jack Van Horn, James Sommers, Reana Mastin, and Heather McDowell defended our title.  Our other team, Pipe Denisten, Aspen Anders, and Marie Titus also had a great showing. Great job readers!

*Students who signed up for Eastern’s Driver Ed program this summer will meet for a brief informational meeting Friday, April 17 at 7:50 in the cafeteria with Ms. Carpenter and Mr. Bedwell. If your bus arrives later, please join us in the cafeteria as soon as you get to school. If you miss the meeting, email Ms. Carpenter to receive the information you missed.
