Eastern High School Announcements

*Come join us in the Global Day of Student prayer called See you at the Pole.  This is open to anyone, and we will meet at 7:45am tomorrow at the flagpole in front of the school.

*Attention Juniors and Seniors – A representative from Franklin College will be at Eastern on Thursday, September 25 at 8:30.   If you would like to learn more about Franklin College, please sign up with Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office by Wednesday, September 24.

*Any HS girl interested in participating in track and field in the spring, there will be an organizational meeting WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 24TH at 3:30-4:00 in the cafeteria.  Winter conditioning, concession stand dates, and other items will be discussed.  Incoming freshman athletes please see Mrs. Kantz to be added to the team GroupMe. If you cannot make the meeting, please contact Mrs. Kantz with questions.”

*Visit the library community room during open hours from September 29 to October 3 and shop at the Scholastic Book Fair!

*In honor of Hobbit Day and their love for a second breakfast, the library is hosting a food drive.  Help stock the Hobbit Pantry by donating non-perishable food items by October 29.  Help support the library and your community.  No one should go without a meal.

*There will be a girls wrestling call out for any middle school and high school girls, Friday right after school in the cafeteria.

*Attention baseball players.  We will have open field today and tomorrow after school.  Please meet at the field at 3:30.

*Winter will be here before you know it and many children will find it a challenge to keep warm. Key Club is collecting new or gently used coats to help these kids in need.  Totes are located in the high school and middle school offices. All donations will go towards Coats for Kids.

*Attention Juniors and Seniors  –  A representative from Manchester University will be at Eastern on Tuesday, September 30 at 9:30.   If you would like to learn more about Manchester University please sign up with Mrs. Koziel in the Guidance Office by Monday, September 29.

*Although it’s called CollegeGoWeek, there are other paths to your dream career. College is one route, but some high-paying, fulfilling careers can be attained through apprenticeships, internships, on-the-job training, technical certifications, or just experience in the field. The following careers pay over $50,000 per year on average and require no college degree:

* Private Detectives and Chefs at $52,000

* Plumbers, Pipefitters, and Electricians at $56,000

* Building Inspectors and Railroad Conductors at $64,000

*Theatrical Make-up Artists and Postmasters at $76,000

* Elevator Installers and Power Plant Operators at $85,000

* and Commercial Pilots at $122,000

*We’ve got the ducks; you bring the creativity!  Register in the library to reserve your duck.  We’ll be having a contest for the favorite on Tuesday, October 7 after school.  Decorate your duck with a variety of art supplies and show off your favorite fandom!

*High school softball practice today will be in the multi-purpose room.

*Middle School Student Council will be meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 24th in Ms. Warnock’s room from 3:15-4:00. If you have other commitments, we understand if you can’t make it.
