*Visit the library community room during open hours from September 29 to October 3 and shop at the Scholastic Book Fair!

*In honor of Hobbit Day and their love for a second breakfast, the library is hosting a food drive.  Help stock the Hobbit Pantry by donating non-perishable food items by October 29.  Help support the library and your community.  No one should go without a meal.

*We’ve got the ducks; you bring the creativity!  Register in the library to reserve your duck.  We’ll be having a contest for the favorite on Tuesday, October 7 after school.  Decorate your duck with a variety of art supplies and show off your favorite fandom!

*Winter will be here before you know it, and many children will find it a challenge to keep warm. Key Club is collecting new or gently used coats to help these kids in need.  Totes are located in the high school and middle school offices. All donations will go towards Coats for Kids.

*There will be a call out meeting for high school boys and girls who are interested in swimming and/or diving on Wednesday, October 1, after school on the pool deck.  If you have any questions, you can contact Coach Sarah.

*On Wednesday, right after school, Drama will be having their first tech call out in room 119. If you want to participate with tech or have given a form to Mrs. Lei, please attend this meeting. We will be dividing roles for tech! If you cannot make it, please contact Mrs. Lei by Wednesday.

*Middle School FCS will meet this Thursday in Ms. Carpenter’s room after school.

*Varsity volleyball beat Lewis Cass last night. Kenzie Appleton had 16 kills and 9 digs. Josie Odle had 16 kills, 15 assists and 9 digs. Kyah Hembree had 6 kills and 11 pts. Gracie Petty added 3 kills. Savannah Smith had 20 assists. Lauren Hendricks had 13 serve receptions, 7 digs and 11 pts.

*SADD Club Meeting Tuesday, October 7th 3:30-4pm in the cafeteria.

*Middle school cross country practice today is canceled.

*On Monday night the Comets traveled to face Lafayette Harrison in what they knew would be a tough test.   In tennis there is no class system like there is in the other team sports, so facing #29 overall Harrison on the road would be a lofty challenge.  The Comets didn’t let it phase them and took it to the host Raiders.  Striking in straight set victories was Silas Flanary at #1 singles, Tristan Armogum at #2 singles and Max Atherton at #3 singles. The doubles would be tested!  The Harrison #1 duo is likely to be All State after season, and their senior leader was a member of the 2022 state runner up team as a freshman.  JT Atherton and Blake Farkas challenged them to a very tight first set but ran out of gas in the second set. The #2 doubles team of Blake Day and Grant Farkas were taken the distance in a 3 set thriller.  The boys were able to come out on top to remain undefeated on the season. The JV was also victorious on the night winning 4-2.  The Varsity moved to 17-3 on the season and this moved them into the #2 spot for all time number of wins.   The JV concluded their season 20-1.   The Varsity is back in action next when facing #26 Kokomo in sectional on Wednesday at 4pm.   Would love to see some Comet supporters if you are able!  Go Comets!

*Seniors- a representative from Herff Jones will be here Friday during lunch to get your cap and gown ordered.

*Middle school homework help will meet in the cafeteria after school today.
