Eastern High School Announcements

Friday May 19, 2023.

 

Soccer season is incoming! There will be a call out meeting for all high school girls interested in playing varsity soccer next school year on MONDAY MAY 22nd after school from 3:20-3:40 in Profe Lorenz’s room 302. All middle school girls are welcome to attend as well to get information to join in for summer workouts! Hope to see you there!

 

Any student who would like to join the cross country team—the callout meeting will be on Tuesday, May 23, at 7:45, in Coach Cox’s room.  Come to join the fun, and bring all your friends with you!

 

Any 8^th through 11^th grade girls interested in basketball, please stop by Mr. Fleenor’s room to get information about summer workouts.

 

Students who signed up for the May 20th driver’s ed class should have received a form from the office with instructions regarding class on Saturday. Make sure to bring the BMV Manuel and a check to pay for class if you have not already paid.

Students who have already attended the first class in April, and have gotten their permits, please email Ms. Carpenter to let her know you have your permit if you have not done so already.

Attention middle school students: Tonight we will celebrate the ending of this school year with a dance and activity night from 6-10PM. Admission is $10.00, enter through door 8.

 

Attention ALL Seniors!!! On Monday, May 22, wear a t-shirt for the college you will be attending this fall.

Attention students grade 8-11:   If you received paperwork regarding Summer School, the signed form needs to be returned to Mrs. Koziel today!

 

ATTN Seniors: If you want to attend the senior fling, the last day to buy tickets will be May 19^th.

Middle School Student Council will have their end of the year party today right after school until 4.

 

Any boy in grades 6-12 interested in playing soccer, stop by Mr. Stouts’ room on Thursday May 18^th to pick up summer work out information.

 

Coach Justice would like to give a shout out to the 8th grade girls soccer players.  The girls did great this season and we cannot wait to see what they do in high school.  Jenna was working hard and continuing to fight for the ball.  Sydney was hustling and was first to the ball the entire game.  Zoe was hustling as well. Also, a BIG thanks to Grace Vanbibber for all leading the team and doing a fantastic job coaching the girls.  Great season girls!

Coach Justice would like to give a shoutout to some of the girls on the Middle School Soccer team.  Malia is always willing to go to any position and always does her best!  Zoe is continually hustling throughout the entire game and is always in the mindset to be the first to the ball.  Clairs is the best suppostive player.  She is always giving good advice and encouraging the team to do their best.  Great job,

The High School Spring Choral Concert will be this Saturday, May 13 at 7:30pm in the PAC.  Tickets may be purchased at eastern.booktix.com

or at the door for $5. All seats are reserved.

This is the last concert of the year. Please come and support the choir and the seniors in their final performance.

 

Boys and girls track will meet in the cafeteria after school today.

The annual American Red Cross blood drive will be on Monday, May 15 in the PAC lobby. You must be at least 16 years old to donate. Sign up on the bulletin board in front of Mrs. Foland’s room. Once a blood donor, always a life saver.

The softball team will be holding a homerun derby fundraiser this Saturday, May 13th @ 1:00 pm after the game against Peru. The cost will be $5 for 5 balls. Everyone show up to support your Lady Comets!!!

 

Join summer reading during the month of May.  This week, we will be having a Popcorn Bar in the library.  Stop by and get some popcorn and add your favorite toppings.  Check out the prizes in the showcase across from the library.  Earn 5 tickets to spin the wheel and get your name in the drawing for these great prizes.

Join the library for activities all month, starting with a cookout on Friday.  We will also be having circus treats, a creepy carnival and ice cream sundaes throughout the month.  Stop in the library for a list of activities.  Check out the showcase, in the hall outside the library, for prizes you can win.  For more information, see one of the librarians.
