  • ATTN:  SENIORS: HERFF JONES WILL BE HERE TO DELIVER YOUR GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS AND OTHER SENIOR PRODUCTS ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26 DURING THE LUNCH PERIODS IN THE CAFETERIA.
  • ATTN:  9TH GRADE : HERFF JONES WILL BE HERE TO DELIVER CLASS RINGS ON WED. APRIL 26 DURING THE LUNCH PERIODS IN THE CAFETERIA.
  • ATTENTION SENIORS!  If you are planning to pursue a degree in music, be sure to check your e-mail for a BRAND NEW scholarship opportunity!  If you  have any questions, please see Mrs. Miller in the Guidance Office!
  • Prom picture orders forms are in the High School office.       Please stop by and pick yours up today.
  • Cheerleading try-outs are scheduled for the 2017/2018 Season. Workshops dates will be : May 3   6pm-8pm, May 8    6pm-8pm, May 9    6pm-8pm (you must attend at least 2 nights of workshops). Tryout date:  May 10  6:30pm. Packets are available in the high school office to pickup.

  • Congratulations to the academic super bowl social studies and interdisciplinary teams! Both teams scored enough points to earn the right to compete in the state finals at Purdue Univ. on May 6th! Great job, and Go Comets!!!!
  • Attention Seniors: The last scholarship list for this year has been posted to the website and outside the Guidance Office and has also been e-mailed! If you are planning to go to college, be sure to check out the last few lists, as some deadlines have not passed! You can’t be awarded a scholarship you didn’t apply for
  • Students who need a paper copy of the email sent earlier this week can pick up the copy in the high school office. Please share either the email or paper copy information with your parents. The Driver’s Ed class is Saturday, April, 22. 6-8 p.m if you signed up for this date to be your first class. The other two dates are May 6, and May 13 from 6:00-8:00.

  • Students who have signed up for Driver’s Education should have an email from Ms. Carpenter. Please check your email today. If you did not receive an email from Ms. Carpenter check your SPAM.   • Last night the academic super bowl teams competed in the area meet at Western High School. Earning first place were the science, fine arts, social studies, and interdisciplinary teams. Each team will find out this afternoon if they qualified for the state meet at Purdue University. Great job comets!!!

  • Girls, do you like to pamper yourself?  A Jamberry Consultant will be at the library on Saturday, April 29th from 9:00-12:00.  Get your nails done for free (yes, just in time for prom).  Stop in the library to register.
  • The girls track and field team beat Tri-Central last night 89-38. The Lady Comets were led by quadruple winner Sydnie Hill, who won the long jump, 200, 400, and 4×400 relay. Renna Ewing was a triple winner in the pole vault, 100 hurdles, and 4×100 relay; Hailey Holliday was a double winner in the discus and the high jump. The 4×100 meter relay team of Cassie Williams, Cheyanne Schmoekel, Cassie Bryan, and Renna Ewing was victorious, as was the 4×400 meter relay team of Katrina Witt, Cassie Bryan, Cheyanne Schmoekel, and Sydnie Hill—both relays ran personal records. Molly Hapner won the 800 and the 3200, while Olivia Vogl won the 1600. Great job, Comets!

  • Attention all new and current national honor society members. There will be a mandatory meeting in Mrs. Ferguson’s room on Tuesday morning about the upcoming induction ceremony.  We will meet at 7:40.

 

  • The girls track and field team finished 8th out of 12 teams on Saturday in the Hamilton Heights Big Orange Invitational. The team was led by Sydnie Hill, who set personal records while placing 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 10 inches, and placing 7th in the 200 meter dash. Renna Ewing placed 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles and 5th in the pole vault. In total, the girls team set 16 new personal records in the competitive meet. Congratulations, girls!

Kindergarten Round-Up

Eastern Elementary is preparing for the new school year. It is time again to talk about new Kindergarten students. The information regarding enrollment for new kindergarten students is below.

· There will be a kindergarten roundup parent meeting on April 11 at 6:00 in the Eastern Elementary cafeteria. Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate and proof of residence.

· On April 25, there will be an open house for all incoming kindergarten students from 6-7:30 p.m. at Eastern Elementary. There will be bus rides, classroom visits, snacks & other activities. Kindergarten students must be 5 by August 1, 2017.

Eastern is beginning preparation for next year. Registration, supply lists, and other news regarding the 2017-2018 school year can be found here. We will update the information and files as new ones become available. Check back often for the latest news and information!

Building registration is for new students, and students who do not have internet access.

Returning students are expected to register online.
